I am exited(!) to be attending the After Dark Education workshop held in Minneapolis from 05/24/ – 05/27:
- Mentor List: http://afterdarkedu.com/mentors.html
- Program: http://afterdarkedu.com/minneapolis/msp_grid.pdf
I am honored to have been awarded a scholarship to this event (a $400 value) by the folks over at www.SilverLakePhoto.com (Thank You!).
I have discovered recently these fine backgrounds from Silverlakephoto that I now use in my studio. I confess I tried making my own backgrounds at first. I tried dying a cotton sheet a couple times and it was a complete failure, not to mention a waste of time and money. The SilverLakePhoto backgrounds on the other hand are beautiful, have a texture, multiple layers of paint, and are a work of art in themselves. I have purchased three of their outstanding hand-painted backgrounds and it has completed what was missing in my headshot portraits. I use the following models in my studio:
- OX4 Oxford Gold Series 6’6×9 Silverlake BACKDROP Muslin Photo Background
- CH4 Charcoal Gold Series 6’6×9 Silverlake BACKDROP Muslin Photo Background
- KR4 Cranberry Platinum Series 6’6X9 Silverlake Cranberry Platinum Series Background
I found out that for a head shot to work, it needs three components:
- Beautiful lighting
- Professional Posing
- – A Background to keep the viewer’s eye interested! –
